Frequently asked questions

are you a homeschool cover OR PRIVATE SCHOOL?

Both. You can teach your child(ren) at home only, they can attend our on-campus classes, or you can do a combination of the two.

Are you accredited?

We have accreditation thru the American Association of Christian Schools, Directors of Alabama Christian Schools, Association of International Christian Schools, Christian Home Education Fellowship, Alabama Christian Education  Association and the American Association of Independent Schools. We are not SACS accredited as it requires having classes five days a week eight hours a day. Our students follow the Alabama Graduation Requirements and take the ACT test. We have students in several college

Do the graduates receive a high school diploma? Cap & gown ceremony?

Yes, to both. 

Can my student still play public school sports?

Yes and no. Yes, the AHSAA added rules that allow dual-enrollment of homeschool students to tryout for sports at the school where their residence is zoned. 


Can vca be our cover outside of alabama?

Yes. We can be your cover school and maintain school records outside Alabama and outside the U.S. This helps your family if you travel, are in military, compete in sports, and more.

What's the difference between homeschooling & online public school options?

Mainly, freedom to adapt home education to your child. The online public school options usually require being online 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Homeschooling can take 1-5 hours a day depending on the age of the child and which curriculum you choose.

Can my child dual-enroll in high school for college credit?

Yes. If the student is at least 16 years old and makes the minimum score on the ACT, they can dual-enroll at a college then receive credit for high school courses and college courses up to two per semester.

How much does VCA Home educating cost?

Our non-refundable new student registration is $125 for the 1st student. The fee for a sibling is $50 up to a $250 per family maximum.

The monthly tuition per family for grades K-8th schooling at home ONLY?

$30

Our tuition cost is charged monthly. If your family has one or more students in grades K-8th, the monthly family tuition is $30. The curriculum is purchased separately.

The monthly tuition per family for grades 9th-12th schooling at home ONLY?

$45

Our tuition cost is charged monthly. If your family has one 9th-12th grader, the monthly family tuition is $45 and covers all other K-8th grade siblings at home too. If you have two 9th-12th graders, the monthly tuition is $55. The curriculum is purchased separately. 

How much does curriculum cost?

Free & Up

The price of curriculum depends on the one you choose to use. We have options from free and up. We are here to help you choose the best option for your individual family.


How much does the VCA on-campus classes cost?

The cost depends on how many classes the student takes at our school & how many students attend. A student can take one to six per semester. If they choose to take only 1 or 2 classes on-campus, they can do the remainder at home.

The VCA Monthly Tuition for one student On-Campus is

$80

If you have one student attending one or more classes, the monthly tuition is $80 which also covers any siblings at home.

The VCA Monthly Tuition for two students On-Campus is

$150

Our tuition cost is charged monthly. If your family has two students attending one or more classes, the monthly tuition is $150 which also covers any siblings at home.

The Monthly Teacher Fee for Each Class is

$55

This fee is due for each student for each class. The fee covers any curriculum, textbook rental, workbooks, copy fee, novel, etc. plus the teacher's instruction and testing. No additional curriculum is required.
